She collaborated with Performance Lab 115 on a new translation/adaptation of Brecht’s Caucasian Chalk Circle through the Mabou Mines/SUITE Resident Artist Program. She has workshopped and directed readings of new plays at Soho Rep, Partial Comfort Productions; Women’s Project, New Georges, Rattlestick Playwrights Theater, New Dramatists, Lark Play Development Center, hotINK, New Voices Play Festival, Columbia University, and NYU/Public Theater.
Alice was a Dean’s Fellow in the M.F.A. theater directing program at Columbia University; while there she directed Machinal by Sophie Treadwell, Exit the King by Eugène Ionesco, The Vise by Luigi Pirandello, and many new plays. She also holds an M.A. in performance studies from NYU/Tisch School of the Arts where she won the Amankulor Award.
She is a New Georges Associate Artist, Resident Artist with Performance Lab 115, and was Artistic Associate at Target Margin. Other affiliations: Soho Rep Writer/Director Lab, Women’s Project Directors Lab, Lincoln Center Directors Lab, League of Professional Theatre Women, Stage Directors and Choreographers Society. She is the recipient of two Foundation of Contemporary Arts Grants, the Princess Grace Award (Fabergé Theater Award) and Princess Grace Special Project Grant, and was a Drama League Directing Fellow.
Alice is Assistant Professor of Professional Practice in Directing at Barnard College.
